F1 Challenge 99 02 Setups

Sorry if this has been asked, but I just bought F1 Challenge 99-02 and found when trying to use my wheel it wouldn't recognize it. Then I found that the real problem is that it only looks at the first two game controllers you have (I have 3, a gamepad, joystick and wheel). So, I can get around the problem by unplugging my gamepad and now it sees the wheel. Is there another way around this though? I couldn't find a patch for this game, maybe is there a way to somehow fudge things in the Windows Control Panel?

You could reassign in Windows the order of the controllers, The wheel needs to be number 1 afaIk.

I've got a joypad around here somewhere, but it's been so long since I used it. No patches for F1c for anything. You could reassign in Windows the order of the controllers, The wheel needs to be number 1 afaIk. Dave henrie Doesn't appear to be any way to order the controllers in Win XP, and it doesn't seem to make a difference if I set the wheel to be the one used with older programs, which I thought was supposed to make it number 1.
