Kimber Of Oregon Model 82 Serial Numbers

Jun 23, 2011  I have one of the original Kimber Model 82's in 22LR. It has a 4-digit serial number without any lettering prefix. I purchased this rifle new in 1981 upon completion of graduate school. It will put bullet on top of bullet at 25 yards with either Eley or Winchester Super-X ammo.

Is it possible that it is an 'S' series and not a Super. Kimber made the S series prior to the super. The “S” series rifles were made by Kimber in response to Dealer requests for something “special”.

The Model 82.22lr “S” series was available only to Kimber master dealers. The distinguishing features of this model are: European classic style stock of select claro walnut Neidner type checkered steel buttplate 22 line per inch full coverage borderless hand checkering Ebony forend tip Special contoured receiver tang Express style open rear sight with a front ramp. V-2 rocket. I intended to send you one bit of observation so as to thank you so much over again for these wonderful information you’ve provided on this website. I won’t be reluctant to refer the sites to anybody who should have guidance on this subject. It’s surprisingly generous with people like you to present without restraint what a lot of folks would have marketed for an e-book to get some bucks for themselves, particularly now that you might well have done it in case you considered necessary. I am able to at this moment look forward to my future. Thanks very much for your skilled and effective help.

Other features are there. I'm sure curious to find out what it's background is.
